Mary Helen Ayres is a treasure. We are lucky to have such a talented midwife in Bloomington. I hope the hospital is able to offer the choice of a midwife to more women. It’s a wonderfully supportive and safe way to give birth.

I found a CPM named Mary Helen Ayres who serves the Bloomington area and set up a meeting. She met with Ben and me, and we immediately decided soon after that she would be the perfect fit. She was very professional, yet loving. She answered all our questions perfectly.

This woman is an angel. If you are interested in home-births in Southern Indiana, I highly recommend her. I really appreciate when I call her with questions, she answers almost as if she is looking at bullet points. Matter of fact, to the point and unbiased. I did not get the home birth I wanted but Mary followed through with me at the hospital. She helped me through check in process, which can be daunting, and spent the entire labor and delivery by my side. I couldn’t have asked for more love, understanding and care for my husband, baby and me.

Knowledge is what makes the home birth experience comfortable and Mary Helen is the mecca of birthing knowledge! I am in awe of her wisdom and calm leading up to and during the birth…. what a warrior of a woman! I am eternally greatful that she helped me achieve my blissful, perfect birth experience at home.
